Current Research Activity

I study the structure and kinematics of high-mass star forming regions (SFRs) through molecular line observations at mm-cm wavelengths. By using different molecular tracers and performing observations at different angular resolutions towards suitable samples of massive SFRs, it is possible to investigate infall, outflow and rotation phenomena in all spatial scales, and thus understand better the mechanism of high-mass star formation.

In particular, my attention is focused on three main projects:

1. A 13CO(2-1) and C18O(2-1) survey towards a sample of 11 high-mass YSOs in order to search for molecular outflows and determine their properties.

2. A HCO+(1-0) and HCN(1-0) survey towards a sample of 50 high-mass parsec-scale molecular clumps, including 20 infrared dark clouds (IRDCs).

3. A specific study of infall at different spatial scales towards three high-mass molecular clumps.
