Third Network School on X-ray Astronomy

The Third Network School will be held in Palermo, Sicily on the 18-22nd May, 2009.

The school intends to offer an introduction to the theme of X-ray emission from star forming regions and will include lectures on high energy emission from low mass and high mass stars. The influence of X-ray emission on circumstellar environment will also be presented. The morning sessions will be devoted to introductory lectures, while the afternoon sessions will include instrumental lectures, a visit to the XACT (the INAF OAPa X-ray laboratory for astrophysics) and practical exercises on real data. Confirmed speakers include: C. Cecchi Pestellini, F. Damiani, F. Favata, E. Feigelson, M. Jardine, A. Maggio, T. Montmerle, G. Peres, S. Sciortino. For logistic reasons the number of attendants will be limited to 35 PhD /post-doc students. Positions will be filled on the basis of "first arrived first served" approach.
